There are so many flashy AI image tools right now, especially for generating brand-new visuals.
But your truest treasures? Those old photos you’ve taken or inherited over the years they matter most.

They might be torn, faded, or stuck in black-and-white. If you're here, you’ve probably tried and failed to restore them with AI—or you just need a straightforward method.

Good news: Today we finally have a perfect model to do so ..

i.e Flux  Kontext, it can seamlessly edit and restore your photos without losing authenticity.

In this guide, I'll show you exactly how to bring your memories back to life. It's simple, effective no fluff.

Ready? Let’s get started.

Getting Started

Remember it’s the model that matters, not the platform.
Flux Kontext runs on several sites, like

  • Replicate – web playground & API

  • Fal.ai – fast hosted endpoint

  • Playground.bfl.ai – first-party demo from Black Forest Labs

  • OpenArt.ai – community gallery + workflows

  • Freepik.com – polished editor we’ll use today

We will use Freepik due to its clean UI, regular model updates, trusted platform and built-in upscaler, and side-by-side comparisons all accessible in one tab.

What you need

  • A high-resolution scan or phone photo

  • Freepik account (10 Free images a day)

  • A few AI credits (one job ≈ 5 6 credits on most services)

▸ Step 1: Upload one image

Why: You need a digital copy JPEG, PNG, or WebP.
